Biography: |
| | I was born in Montrose, Scotland and immigrated to Canada with my family at the age of ten. Following graduation from high school in Vancouver, I attended B.C. Vocational School and became a shipwright and boatbuilder. In the 1970's I took courses in visual arts and began painting in oils, acrylics, and in watercolours. I moved to Port Coquitlam in 1980 and eventually joined the Port Moody Art Association. I became the president of that organization in 1992.
I began teaching with the Artist in the Schools program and was, for a time, the artist in residence for School District #43 and taught part-time at Place des Arts in Coquitlam. In November of 1993 I formed Art Focus with the assistance of the Arts Council and Port Coquitlam Parks and Recreation. Many of my paintings are in private collections in Canada, England, Germany,and Australia. Currently I teach watercolour and ink, acrylics, and drawing.
